If your crawl space or basement has flooded, we can help remove the standing water, diagnose the source, provide solutions, and repair damages such as wood rot and mold. It is imperative to remove standing water as soon as possible to avoid compounding issues.
A vapor barrier is a thick plastic liner that covers the ground in your crawl space. Its main job is to stop moisture from the soil before it can affect your home. Here in North Carolina, we deal with high humidity almost year-round. When that humidity mixes with ground moisture, it can create very damp conditions under your house. Installing a quality vapor barrier keeps ground moisture out and forms the foundation for a fully encapsulated crawl space.
We start by removing the old barrier and cleaning out any debris. The new liner is installed to cover the entire crawl space floor, secured with stainless steel stakes, and sealed with tape at every seam and overlap. It’s extended at least 4 inches up the foundation walls and carefully sealed around all masonry piers. We use durable, commercial-grade barriers and offer several thickness options to match your needs and budget.
Why it’s needed:
Prevents excess moisture that can lead to mold, mildew, and musty odors.
Protects wooden beams, floors, and insulation from rot or water damage.
Reduces humidity, making your crawl space less attractive to pests.
Helps improve indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
Understanding “mil” thickness:
A mil = one-thousandth of an inch (0.001").
6-mil → Thin and economy-grade. Commonly used by contractors when the home is built. Provides basic coverage but tears easily.
10-mil → Mid-grade. Good balance of durability and cost.
12-mil to 20-mil → Heavy-duty liners. Far more resistant to punctures and long-term wear. Best choice for full encapsulation or high-moisture areas.
The right barrier depends on your crawl space condition, how long you want it to last, and whether you’re pairing it with a full encapsulation system.
We provide insulation services by the square foot — whether it’s replacing a small damaged section or removing and replacing everything. In some cases, it may be more cost-effective to upgrade to an insulated foundation with full encapsulation.
If your insulation is still in good shape but has fallen out of place, we also offer a re-pinning service. Using insulation rods installed every 12 inches, we secure the material so it stays firmly in place without sagging.
A crawl space dehumidifier helps keep your home healthier and more efficient by lowering humidity, improving air quality, and preventing mold and mildew growth. It also reduces strain on your HVAC system, helping improve energy efficiency.
We work with top brands and provide complete installation — including sealing foundation vents and weatherstripping doors, installing new GFCI outlets, plumbing, condensation pumps, filters, and more. Once installed, we test the system to ensure it’s running at peak performance, giving you peace of mind that your crawl space is fully protected. We will go over any maintenance requirements and optionally schedule check-ups and filter changes.

Condensation Pump Installation/Replacement
A full crawl space encapsulation provides long-term protection by sealing your crawl space against moisture, pests, and outside air. The benefits include improved indoor air quality, prevention of mold and wood damage, greater energy efficiency, and a more comfortable, healthier home overall.
Our encapsulations use industry-standard methods and are fully compliant with North Carolina building code. Each system includes:
A heavy-duty vapor barrier installed on the ground and foundation walls
A high-capacity dehumidifier for humidity control
Insulation to improve energy efficiency
Sealed foundation vents and weatherstripping on entry doors
Proper drainage to prevent standing water
Because every home is unique, we also offer modified encapsulations. During your inspection, we’ll recommend the right balance of solutions to fit your needs and budget, ensuring effective protection at a reasonable price.
Old or damaged crawl space vents allow outside air, moisture, and pests into your home. We replace broken vents with durable, sealed units to prevent drafts and water intrusion. For encapsulated crawl spaces, we fully seal vents to lock out humidity and improve efficiency.
Foundation vents are a common entry point for rodents, snakes, and insects. We install protective covers and screens designed to block pests while maintaining proper airflow where needed. This helps protect your home without the use of harsh chemicals.
If your vents sit below grade, they can allow rainwater to flow directly into the crawl space. We install vent rain wells to keep water away from the foundation wall and ensure proper drainage. This simple solution reduces flooding risks and prolongs the life of your crawl space system.
Sump Pump
A sump pump system is installed to automatically remove water from low-lying areas such as basements or crawl spaces. The service includes excavation for a sump basin, installation of the pump, and proper PVC plumbing for discharge away from the home’s foundation. Electrical connections are made to a dedicated GFCI outlet for safe and reliable operation. The system is tested to ensure efficient drainage and protection against flooding or standing water.
French Drain
A French drain is a subsurface drainage system designed to redirect groundwater away from problem areas. Installation includes trenching to proper slope, laying perforated drain pipe in a gravel bed, and wrapping the system with filter fabric to prevent clogging. The drain is connected to an appropriate discharge point or sump basin. Once installed, the area is backfilled and graded for a clean appearance and long-term moisture control around the foundation. French Drains may be installed in concrete slabs such as in basements, in crawl spaces to control flooding, and/or along the exterior in areas prone to collecting standing water.
The most important factor in fungal growth control is moisture mitigation. Every project begins with a comprehensive inspection to identify and address underlying moisture sources such as leaks, humidity, or drainage issues. Once the cause is corrected, we apply the appropriate remediation method based on the extent and severity of the mold.
Our process emphasizes safety, containment, and prevention — not just removal. We use professional-grade antifungal fog treatments and targeted cleaning methods to neutralize mold colonies and inhibit regrowth. Depending on the severity, this may include fog-only treatment for light surface mold, or fog combined with light to moderate scrubbing for more established growth.
All treatments are completed using EPA-registered products safe for crawl spaces and residential environments, and we finish with a moisture control plan to prevent recurrence. We offer several tiers of service depending on severity:
Spot Treatment
Spray and scrub small, localized areas.
Fogging
A preventative antifungal fog treatment that kills airborne and surface mold spores. Best for clean or recently treated spaces to stop future growth.
Control & Protect
Combines fogging with light hand cleaning of visible mold on accessible framing. Ideal for small or early-stage mold issues.
Target & Treat
A deeper treatment including fogging and thorough scrubbing of affected wood surfaces. Designed for moderate mold growth throughout the crawl space.
Restore & Remediate
Comprehensive mold remediation with full fogging, detailed scrubbing, and inspection follow-up. Best suited for heavy contamination, insurance claims, or restoration projects.
Custom Crawl Doors
Our crawl space doors are hand-built on site for a precise, snug fit — no gaps, no drafts. Each door is constructed from pressure-treated lumber to resist moisture, decay, and insect damage, ensuring long-term durability in even the harshest conditions.
We can further customize each installation with insulation panels for energy efficiency and weather stripping to seal out drafts, humidity, and pests. The result is a clean, secure, and weather-resistant entry that protects your crawl space and helps maintain the health of your home’s foundation.
Custom Door/Window Wells
Our wells are built to divert water away from low points along the foundation, such as crawl space doors or vents. Each well is dug and framed with pressure-treated wood, brick, or masonry block to match site conditions and ensure long-term durability. The interior is backfilled with drainage gravel, creating a natural basin for water collection and flow. For enhanced protection, wells can also be integrated with a French drain system to direct water safely away from the foundation.
We offer basic exterior drainage solutions, such as French Drains, gutter downspout extensions, repairs to existing drainage, etc.
Girders are the primary load-bearing beams of the flooring system, running perpendicular to the floor joists. When a girder is damaged, sagging, or improperly supported, it can cause uneven floors, cracked walls, and misaligned doors throughout the affected area of the home. A comprehensive structural inspection will be performed to determine the proper repair method.
For localized sagging, a permanent drop-girder may be installed mid-span beneath the affected joists to restore proper leveling and structural support.
In some cases, additional support piers may be installed to reinforce weakened or undersupported areas.
All repairs are completed in accordance with modern structural engineering standards. Support piers are installed on concrete footers with anchors and brackets for secure, long-term stability.
Damaged or weakened floor joists are reinforced by sistering — installing a new, equal-size joist along the full length of the existing one. This repair may be combined with a drop-girder or supplemental piers when needed to ensure proper structural integrity and load distribution.
Damaged sections of the sill plate or rim band are removed and replaced with pressure-treated lumber of matching dimensions. If joists must be cut back for access, they will be temporarily supported and fully sistered to restore original strength and alignment.
Pier Shimming: When a girder is not in full contact with a support pier, precision shims are added to ensure proper contact and even load transfer.
Subfloor Repairs: Damaged subfloor sections are removed and replaced. Depending on the cause and location, repairs may be completed from below or from above. Subfloor replacement from above may require removal and reinstalling finished flooring such as hardwood, tile, or laminate.
Foundation Repairs: We perform minor foundation repairs, including crack sealing and small masonry replacements. Larger foundation work, such as helical pier installation or major structural reconstruction, will be referred to a qualified specialist.
